Day 1/? – Firebase Fundamentals

So with all the excitement of other obligations, I wasn’t able to start my ambitious goal sooner (yesterday). But that’s okay, I’m ready to start tonight!

I decided to start with Firebase as it’s the first thing on my list (and will come in handy with current projects I’m working on). As with most documentation, Firebase is pretty stuffed… And it’s a little daunting, to say the least. But I’m going to start my journey under their Fundamentals pages.

For those of you in a rush, this is what it consists of:

  • Info on adding Firebase to compatible apps (Android, iOS, and web)
  • How to maintain them
  • Protecting users that use them
  • References and code snippets for iOS, Android, web, C++, Unity, and Admin SDKs
  • Beginner and advanced lessons

Pretty exciting – I’m a newbie to Firebase, and I had no idea it could be applied to games (Unity)! So not too much progress on building today, but it’s always cool to learn something new. Tomorrow I’m going to start on what looks like the next step on their documentation (Adding Firebase to an iOS project) – until next time!
